Woodrow Wilson Cockrill

Woodrow Wilson Cockrill was born on May 11, 1916, in Sage Arkansas,, and departed this life on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 91. Woodrow, the son of James Wilkes and Lena Gertrude Gray Cockrill, was a resident of Meeker. He married Myrtle Lee Shannon on December 5, 1936 in Newport, Arkansas. Woodrow was a farmer and of the Baptist faith. His parents, three sisters, and four brothers preceded Woodrow in death. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Myrtle Cockrill of Meeker; daughters and sons-in-law, Nora E. and James H. Taylor of Midwest City, Rhonda L. and Scotty S. Cowan of Wellston; brothers and sisters-in-law, Douglas and Thelma Cockrill of Newport, Arkansas, Billy R. and Sue Cockrill of Tuckerman, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at 2:00 PM, at Living Waters Church in Meeker with Donna Morton officiating. Interment will follow at the Rossville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
