WINDELL R. THOMAS (BUD) August 28, 1927 - July 1, 2020 August 28, 1927, in Elk City, Oklahoma, Windell Ray became the first son of Albert Ray Thomas and Lola Irene Thomas. He joined sister Rosemary “Odie”, then Ester “Louise” and then brother Donnie. Growing up in Elk City, Meno and Lahoma where he graduated from high school. Upon graduation he immediately joined the U.S. Navy and after basic he was assigned to the USS Tucson which was a training vessel off the California coast. After being released from the Navy he returned to Oklahoma where he married the love of his life, Guida Ramona Hromas. As they grew together, they became the proud parents of 4 daughters and 1 son: Cyndi, Lyndi, Phillip, Myndi, and Wyndi. As a family every summer meant a trip to Colorado which Bud and Guida continued in their retirement traveling to all 48 lower states. Bud attended Oklahoma A&M becoming a teacher an Agriculture teacher (FFA), which he loved, and he eventually earned his Masters. Teaching young people many lessons of farming, ranching, construction, and other life skills. Bud taught in Lahoma, Crescent, and Prague during his career and hopefully left good memories and lessons. During his life he worked at service stations, at the grain elevator, driving charter and school busses. Working hard was all he knew from a young age and he never backed away from getting things done. He was also a Mason and loved making pancakes for their monthly breakfast. After thinking he would not have grandchildren he was surprised when granddaughter Hayden and then grandson Justin joined the family. They made his life a complete joy. Bud was proceeded in death by his parents and siblings, his beloved wife Guida and daughter Lyndi.
