William Raymond Young

Davenport, OK resident William Raymond Young was born on August 27, 1912, in Stroud, OK, and departed this life on Monday, October 12, 2009, in Stroud, at the age of 97 years. William was the son of William Jake and Martha Jane (Crites) Young. He served in the United States Army during WWII. William worked in the Oil Fields for many years. He was a member of the Davenport First Baptist Church and the Davenport Masonic Lodge 260, having attained his 32 degree and served as an Akdar Shriner. His parents, two wifes, one daughter, one step-son, three brothers and three sisters preceded William in death. Survivors include, Sons, Carl Young of Davenport, OK, Robert Campbell of Davenport, OK, Larry Campbell of Davenport, OK, Billy Young of Meeker, OK, daughters, Joyce Webb of Davenport, OK, Jeanette Johnson of Davenport, OK Patricia Beck of Davenport, OK, Betty Mitchell of Davenport, OK, Mary Young of Davenport, OK, numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, October 15, 2009, at the First Baptist Church of Davenport with Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Davenport Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
