William Lee Hopson, long-time resident of The Village, was born on June 7, 1931, in Lovell, OK, and departed this life November 14, 2012, at his home, at the age of 81 years. William was the son of Royse Jerome and Alice Rebecca (Story) Hopson. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. William married Patsy D. Hudson, on November 24, 1951, in Chandler, OK. He worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for many years. William was a member of Masonic Lodge 36 in Oklahoma City, OK. His parents, one brother, and one sister preceded William in death. Survivors include, one daughter and son-in-law. Marilyn and Dave Harder of Edmond, OK, two grandchildren and spouses. Melissa and Rickey Avery of The Village, Michele and Mike Whitaker of Edmond, two great-great-grandsons, David and Thomas Whitaker of Edmond, one brother, Royse Loveless of Tulia, TX, three sisters, Norma Lowe of Oklahoma City, Evelyn Blankenship of Cushing, OK, and Joyce Varner of Chandler, other relatives and many friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 16, 2012, at Carney Cemetery, Carney, OK with Mark Sinor officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
