William James Goforth

William James Goforth was born on April 29, 1927, in Tucker, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Tuesday, July 10, 2007, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 80. Bill, the son of Fred Lee and Edna Mae Woodruff Goforth, was the oldest of five boys and two girls. He lived in the Prague area since 1928. He attended Centerview School and graduated in 1947. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1961 where he worked as an aircraft mechanic. For several years Bill helped the van driver from the Senior Citizen?s Center deliver noon meals to homebound seniors. His hobby was music. He especially enjoyed playing the guitar and the accordion. Bill had a deep desire to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was a member of the KC Club. His parents, three brothers, and one sister preceded Bill in death. Survivors include sons, William Wayne Goforth of Seminole and Robert Eugene Goforth of Prague; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Peggie Goforth of Seminole; sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Frank Novotny of Meeker; 5 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
