William ?Bill? J. Whitnah, Oklahoma City, OK, age 80, was born on March 3, 1925, in Choctaw, OK. He was the son of Louis H. & Emma L. Garrett Whitnah. He left this life on February 13, 2006, in Oklahoma City, OK. Bill served in the U. S. Army during World War II where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Bill lived in the Choctaw and Harrah area most of his life. He worked as a construction superintendent and after his retirement he drove the school bus for the Choctaw Schools for ten years. He was a deacon at the Newalla Baptist Church, currently attended the Wilmont Place Baptist Church and a member of the DAV. Bill enjoyed bluegrass music, traveling and was active in church. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Leona Mai Clark Whitnah. Survivors include his wife, Ovella Whitnah of the home; 1 son & daughter-in-law, Donald & Susie Whitnah, Harrah, OK; 1 daughter, Billetta Evans, Midwest City, OK; 3 step-sons & wives, Allen & Nancy McAlister, Dallas, TX, Mike McAlister, Harrah, OK, Victor & Sara McAlister, Okla. City, OK; 2 brothers & sisters-in-law, Cliff & Bessie Whitnah, Choctaw, OK, Eldon & Pauline Whitnah, Wellston, OK; 1 sister & brother-in-law, Lorene & Calvin Baker, Harrah, OK; 3 grandchildren, Patricia Evans, Stephanie Maggot, Shelly Atwell; 2 great-grandchildren, Koston & Kyle Magott; 5 step-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2006, at the Wilmont Place Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, OK, with Rev. Danny Frazee officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
