William F. Hightower

William F. ?Bill? Hightower was born in Gerty, Oklahoma on December 12, 1927 and departed this life in Prague, Oklahoma on December 20, 2005. He was 78 years of age. He was the son of Robert Floyd Hightower and Lula May Ingram Hightower. Bill received his Bachelors Degree from East Central State College in 1950, his Masters Degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1955, and later earned his Administrators degree from O. U. Bill had taught school at Stuart, Kingston and Okmulgee Schools as well as Oklahoma State Technical College at Okmulgee. He was principal at Emerson Elementary School in Okmulgee until he retired in 1984. He was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee and his hobby was showing quarter horses. He was married to Billie Dean Woods on September 20, 1950 in Gerty, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death on July 20, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bob Hightower. He is survived by one brother and sister in law, Jim and Sherrie Hightower, McLoud, OK; Sister in law, Wilma Hightower, Gerty, OK; 5 nephews, Mickey, Donnie Rex, Mark and Robert Hightower; 1 niece, Debbie Liliequist.
