William Eugene Newnam

William Eugene Newnam was born on August 9, 1931, in Davenport, OK, and departed this life on Thursday, February 10, 2005, in Stroud, OK, at the age of 73. Bill, the son of William C. and Iris Maurine Roberts, was a resident of Davenport. He married Betty Louise Stephens on October 22, 1949, in Chandler. She predeceased him on August 8, 2000. Bill was a self-employed auto mechanic. His father and one sister, Daisy McGuire, also preceded Bill in death. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law; Kathy Dotson and Mark Weber of Tulsa, Shirley and Don Hargis of Clovis, CA, and Billie and Donnie Gaylord of Davenport; mother, Iris Newnam of Chandler; sister, Patsy Newnam of Chandler; 8 grandchildren and 16 Great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 14, 2005 at 10:00 A.M., at the First Baptist Church in Stroud with Rev. Burl Mackey and Rev. Don Hargis officiating. Interment will follow at the Davenport Cemetery in Davenport, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud. Memorials may be made to Bus Fund of the First Baptist Church of Stroud.
