William "Doc" Sanders

William 'Doc' Sanders, age 89, of McLoud, OK, was born on May 30, 1925, in Bergman, Arkansas. He was the son of Stephen Wallace & Stella Jane (Lord) Sanders. He left this life on Monday, November 17, 2014, in Harrah, OK. Doc proudly served in the U. S. Navy. He married Ida Louise White on April 18, 1946, in McLoud, OK. Doc attended trade school for electronics. He was a production foreman in the oil industry. Doc was a member of the Newalla First Baptist Church and a 32nd degree Mason. He was an amateur inventor and enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to bluegrass music and going to bluegrass festivals. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Louise, siblings, Lena, Ruby, Dovie, Jean and Jimmy. Survivors include 2 sons & daughters-in-law, Warren & Jill Sanders, Phoenix, AZ, Joel & Karen Sanders, Colorado Springs, CO; 2 daughters & son-in-law, Gloria Conner, Harrah, OK, Faye & Jessie Rhoden, Midwest City, OK; brother, Ernie Sanders, Monahans, TX; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer Buck, Stephanie Godwin, Tammy Gunesch, Aaron Sanders, Audrey Hobbs, Rachel Terrell, Vickie Sanders April Rankin, Aaron Lance Sanders, Ashley Sanders, Kelley Hall, Bryan Rhodens; 17 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Newalla First Baptist Church, Newalla, OK, with Rev. Allan Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Dale Cemetery, Dale, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
