William Joseph 'Bill' Miller, long-time Chandler, OK, resident was born on February 3 1935, in Tryon, OK, and departed this life Wednesday, July 25, 2012, in Stillwater, OK, at the age of 77 years. Bill was the son of David Lewis and Martha Ann (Ely) Miller. He was a 1953 graduate of Agra High School. Bill married Loyce Marie Shockey on May 6, 1967, in Ponca City, OK. He served in the United States Army. Bill worked as a Tool and Die Maker at Tinker Air Force Base for many years. He was a member and past Vice Commander of the local America Legion, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Chandler. He and his wife, Loyce, were ardent supporters of the Chandler wrestling programs and the Boy Scouts of America. Bill took great pride in being a 'Double Eagle' father with both of his sons achieving the rank of Eagle Scout; he was also the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award, awarded through the Boy Scouts of America. His parents, wife, and three sisters, preceded Bill in death. Survivors include, two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Marsha Miller of Superior, MT, John and Rebekah Miller of Papua New Guinea, one sister, Cora Snell of Perkins, OK, five grandchildren, Keith, Katherine, Abigail, Talitha, Priscilla, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 30, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Chandler, with Rev. Rick Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Chandler. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, OK.
