William "Bill" Howard Derrick

William Howard 'Bill' Derrick, age 80, of McLoud, OK, was born on May 11, 1935, in Newalla, OK. He was the son of James Harvey & Lois Isabel (Rogers) Derrick. He left this life on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, in McLoud, OK. Bill married Arlene Mae Hoffman on August 1, 1955, in Midwest City, OK. She passed away in 1991. He married Rita McDonald Underwood on September 17, 1993, in Shawnee, OK. Bill retired from Tinker AFB. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newalla, OK, where he was a faithful servant of God. He was also a member of Jolly Elders, the Ministerial Alliance and the Newalla Community Reunion Committee. He enjoyed gardening, working in the yard and visiting in the hospitals and nursing homes. Bill was also preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Rita Derrick, McLoud, OK; 1 daughter & son-in-law,Tamara & Michael Teague, Newalla, OK, step-son & wife, Mike & Jamie Underwood, Edmond, OK; step-daughter & husband, Michelle & Roy Johnston, Norman, OK; 8 grandchildren, Amanda Keithley & husband, Chris, Moore, OK, Sarah Dixon & husband, Joel, Cambridge, England, Derek Teague & wife, Katie, Oklahoma City, OK, Jordan Underwood & wife, Elise, Edmond, OK, Hannah Underwood, Edmond, OK, Leah Underwood, Edmond, OK, Kylee Johnston, Norman, OK, Julie Johnston, Norman, OK; 1 great-granddaughter, Abigail Joy Dixon, Cambridge, England and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, Dec. 10th at Smith-Parks Funeral Service, 2039 N. Tim Holt Dr., Harrah, OK. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Newalla, 20800 SE 59th St., Newalla, OK 74857. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, December 11, 2015, at the First Baptist Church of Newalla, Newalla, OK. Interment will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Newalla, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
