Willard Raymond Bostwick, age 85, of Newalla, OK, was born on October 6, 1922 in Guthrie, OK. He was the son of John Raymond & Adnia Crossland Bostwick. He left this life on Thursday, January 10, 2008 in Midwest City, OK. Willard served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. He served with the 335th Infantry in the European Theater of Operations for 15 months where he was a field wire chief in charge of 12 men. He stated several times, 'these feet have walked across Europe and back'. His reply to what did you do in the army was 'liberated tanks'. Willard also enlisted in the Army as Ready Reserve Active Status from 1950 to 1953. He married Sarah Ann Warner on December 24, 1947 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Norwood Lakeside Baptist Church, an honorary member of the Girl Scouts of America and served on the Norwood Volunteer Fire Department. He loved to fish, hunt and other nature sports and activities. Willard enjoyed friends and children, especially his grandkids. Willard was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Oscar, Maurice 3 sisters, Grace, Goldie & Ruth and granddaughter, Shannon Muller. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Bostwick of Newalla, OK; 2 sons & daughter-in-law, Phillip Raymond Bostwick of Midwest City, OK, Michael Willard & Debbie Bostwick of Newcastle, OK; 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Patricia A. & Jim Corley of Newalla, OK, Sharon Marie & Derald Edmonds of Merriam, KS; 2 brothers & sisters-in-law, Lewis & Georgia Bostwick of Foss, OK, Johnny & Doris Bostwick of Yukon, OK; sister & brother-in-law, Irene & Roy Miller of Wichita Falls, TX; 10 grandchildren, Kelly Porter and husband, Dewayne, of Midwest City, OK, Shawn Bostwick of Moore, OK, Kristi Bostwick of Norman, OK, Eric Bostwick of Edmond, OK, Kim Bostwick of Oklahoma City, OK, Danny Bostwick and wife DawnDee of Norman, OK, Jeff Edmonds of Kansas City, MO, Kara Edmonds of Merriam, KS, Sara Hood of Midwest City, OK, Kaci Bostwick of Newcastle, OK; 3 great-grandchildren, Austin, Zachary and Brandon Porter and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held 2:00PM Monday, January 14, 2008 at the New Life Baptist Church, Newalla, OK with Rev. John Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
