Wayne Edmund Lawson, age 82, of Harrah, OK, was born October 12, 1934, in Norton, Kansas. He was the son of Charles E. & Nellie B. (Kimbrell) Lawson. He left this life on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, in Shawnee, OK. Wayne graduated from Norton High School, Norton, Kansas, attended Kansas State University and then the St. Louis Drafting School for construction. He was a self-employed carpenter who built houses. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking and camping. He worked for the Corp of Engineers as the gate operator at several camp grounds to enable more fishing time for him and his wife. Wayne was married to Norma, the love of his life, for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Norma, two brothers, Richard & Dean Lawson, two step children, Tim Rushing, Sherry Rushing and son-in-law, Richard Orcutt. Survivors include 2 sons & daughters-in-law, Robert & Donna Lawson, Houston, TX, David Lawson, McLoud, OK; 2 step-sons & wife, Tommie & Pam Rushing, McLoud, OK, Joe Rushing, McLoud, OK; daughter & son-in-law, Judy & Adrian Martin, Bedias, TX; 5 sisters & brothers-in-law, Ila & Dennis Lemon, Salina, KS, Leta & Jim Dufford, Arvada, CO, Creta Wonderlich, Osborne, KS, Donna Gosch, Norton, KS, Carol Griffith, Norton, KS; sister-in-law, Carol M. Lawson, Norton, KS; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, February 27, 2017, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
