Wanda Lee Herring

Wanda Lee Herring, McLoud, OK, age 79, was born on June 19, 1932, in Blanchard, OK. She was the daughter of James Roy & Myrtle May (Ashley) Hunter. She left this life on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, in McLoud, OK. Wanda graduated from Midwest City High School. She married Arnold David Herring on September 4, 1953, in Midwest City, OK. Wanda was a member of Newalla First Baptist Church. She was an assembler at General Motors and drove the school bus. She played professional basketball and enjoyed gardening and working in her flower beds. Most of all she enjoyed taking care of her kids and grandkids. On this day entered into heaven a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She lived a long fulfilled life surrounded by family and friends. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, James Silas Hunter and sister, Pauline Norton. She is survived by her 3 sons & daughters-in-law, David & Susan Herring, McLoud, OK, Roy & Stacy Herring, McLoud, OK, Jeff & Dena Herring, McLoud, OK; daughter, Gloria Jean Wells, Shawnee, OK; 2 brothers, J.R. Hunter, Jearl Hunter; sister, Betty Deaton; 11 grandchildren, Jesse & Jennifer Herring, Kara Wells, James & Kelly Herring, Troy & Reggie Herring, Elizabeth & David Beaver, Amanda & John Halford, Mikayla Hollis, Luke Herring, Mark Herring, Paul Herring, Lisa & Benjamin Kennedy; 13 great-grandchildren, Tanner, David, Reese, Brenden, Brett, Jayden, Holland, Dax, Harley, Wyatt, Taylor, Ben & Preston and many other relatives and friends. Services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, March 16, 2012, at the Newalla First Baptist Church, Newalla, OK. Interment will follow at Jamison Cemetery, McLoud, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
