Walter Joe Martin

Walter “Joe” Martin was born in Roswell NM where he lived most of his life. He was moved to Bristow OK from Broken Bow, OK in May of 2024 to be closer to his family until his final days.

Walter worked in construction a great deal of his life. Before being placed in his nursing home, Walter was a part of Church of God. Walter loved playing his guitar and leading songs of worship at his nursing home. He loved playing the guitar and singing. Walter also loved working with his hands, whether it be woodwork or leather work.

Walter was proceeded in death by his parents Robert and Betty Bradley, his biological father Calvin Martin, his brother Benjamin “Danny” and his wife Cyd, sister Twila Vandenberg, nephews Calvin Martin and Vernon “Mike” Vandenberg, niece Cynthia Sturgis and sisters in law Kathleen Thomas and Deb Rhynes.

He is survived by his children Joe Martin Jr. of NM, Nicholas Martin of TX and Trisha Martin of NM. Sister Corrine Lamb of Kalamazoo Michigan, brothers Jimmy Martin of Kalamazoo Michigan, and Kevin Bradley of Roswell NM, brother-in-law Vitus Vandenberg of Stroud Oklahoma, Aunt Sandra Bayes of Columbus Ohio, Uncle David Arnold of Roswell NM, grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
