Vola Maude Clarkson, life-long Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born July 12, 1924, in Chandler, and departed this life on September 4, 2015, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 91 years. Vola was the daughter of Robert Oscar 'Dick' Simpson, and Olive 'Ollie' Faye (Melson) Simpson. She attended grades 1-8 at Pleasant Ridge and Stone grade schools, then graduated Chandler High School in 1942. Vola married Johnny Ross Clarkson on June 12, 1943. She was a long-time member of the Chandler First Baptist Church. Vola worked for Diener Mills Clothing Manufacturing, and Lincoln County Assessors office in Chandler for many years, having retired in 1991. Vola was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Mickey Ross; one sister, Rosa Mae; one niece, Ada Faye Jackson, and one nephew, William Robert James. Survivors include one granddaughter, Lisa and husband Terry Smith of Oklahoma City, one great-grandson, Michael Ryan Gregg, one great-granddaughter, Ashley Paige Gregg, one great-great grandson, Kylen Gregg, and one daughter-in-law, Sue (Clarkson) Martin, other relatives and many friend. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at the First Baptist Church in Chandler, with Rev. Rick Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
