Virginia Mae Boydston

Virginia Mae Yost Boydston, age 76, of Harrah, OK, was born on March 23, 1930, in McLoud, OK. She was the daughter of Guy P. and Juanita Horton Yost. She departed this life on August 15, 2006, in Harrah, OK. Virginia attended and graduated from McLoud schools. After graduation she worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. and was an office supervisor and cashier when she resigned. She worked at the Harrah Schools 24 years as a secretary, Clerk of the Board of Education and was a purchasing agent when she retired. She was active in the Oklahoma Association of Educational Office Personnel, serving as a state officer for 5 years in various capacities. She attained the Certified Educational Office Employee Certificate through the National School Board and Administrators Association. This program is a program by college, service and experience. She was a member of the Retired Educators Association, National Association of Office Personnel, Kappa Kappa Iota, Harrah Historical Society, Oklahoma City Ongoers and the First Baptist Church of Harrah. One of the highlights of her retirement was being a part of the staff for the Harrah Centennial book ?Harrah Backward and Forward?. She also enjoyed traveling. She and her husband visited almost all of the continents of the world and traveled all the states of the U.S. She and A. R. always enjoyed the trips that included Mary Ann, Kevin, Kristina and Kelsey. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, and her only son, Lee. Survivors include her husband, A. R. Boydston, Harrah, OK; 1 daughter & son-in-law, Mary Ann & Kevin Kendall, Oklahoma City, OK; 1 brother, Bob Yost, Gainsville, TX; 1 sister, Bonnie Wallace, Oklahoma City, OK; 2 granddaughters, Kristina & Kelsey Kendall; 1 step-grandson & wife, Bob & Paula Horn; 1 great-grandson:, Mason Horn and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 18, 2006, at the First Baptist Church, Harrah, OK, with Dr. Tony Nickel officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
