Virginia H. Tizard was born on April 2, 1919, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and passed away peacefully on February 10, 2018, in Dobbs Ferry, New York at the age of 98 years. Virginia was the daughter of Finis and Anna Margaret Holliday, she had two siblings Harvey and wife Juanita of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Margaret and husband Willie Freeman of Chandler. She followed her sister to Washington, DC where both worked for the FBI. Sometime later, she returned to Oklahoma where she received her diploma from Oklahoma A&M (now OSU) with a degree in Dietetics. Virginia had a rewarding career with the government rising to the position of Chief Dietician at the VA Hospital in Sepulveda, California. In 1949, she married Dick Tizard and they had two children, Richard and wife Donna Tizard, Diane and husband Greg Faulk, they lived in Van Nuys. After Dick's death in 1997, Virginia moved to Somers, New York to be closer to her family. She established herself at her church and in her community. Virginia enjoyed traveling, going to Europe several times while in her 80's. She was an avid reader, something her mother in particular encouraged. Virginia is survived by her children four grandchildren, one niece, two nephews, and their children. Virginia will be returning to her beloved Oklahoma, services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 17, 2018, in Oak Park Cemetery, Chandler, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
