The union of Jessie and William Esters was blessed with their baby boy Virgil Ray Esters, on May 17, 1934 in Chandler, OK. Virgil graduated from Douglass High School in 1954. Where he later enlisted in the U.S Army, 20th artillery division. On June 27, 1957 Virgil was united in marriage to Ellawiese and to this union two daughters were born. Later in life Virgil meet Pamela Duffy and to this union another daughter was born. Virgil Ray was a man who wore many hats. He was a father by day and a hustler by night. He loved to dance, listen to the blues while spending time with old friends and family talking about the good ole days. He was a man with a big heart and even bigger sense of humor. He would help anyone in need. Virgil was known for his beautiful garden and his fabulous cooking. Virgil departed this life to be eternally reunited with his parents Jessie and William Esters. His brothers James Esters, Robert Lee Esters, Buster Esters and A.C Esters; sisters, Myrtle Brown, Jessie Mae Fields, Glendola Esters, Java Jean Long; daughter Ella Marie Esters and one of his favorite nephews Mr. Victor Brown. Virgil leaves to mourn in his departure, his daughter Wanelle Taylor (James) Buckeye, AZ, his daughter Tamara Esters (Mommie), Edmond OK, son Ray Duffy (Curt); One granddaughter Brittany Esters (Papa's Pocahontas) eight grandsons, eleven great grandkids, his first wife Ella, and his second wife, whom he loved to hate, Pamela Jean Esters, and a host of family and friends. Virgil Ray will be forever missed, but traffic in Chandler will flow a little faster. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, March 15, 2019, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler, Oklahoma, with Rev. W.I. Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
