Virgil Gene Bond

Virgil Gene Bond was born in Stroud, Oklahoma on February 28, 1929 and departed this life in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on December 24, 2017 at the age of 88 years. Virgil was the son of James Samuel and Lola Julia (Matheson) Bond. He was a resident of Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was member of the Church of Christ in Stroud and retired from ATT Telephone Company as a Transportation Manager. He married Betty Jo English on July 3, 1949. She preceded him in death April 26, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include, one son, Ron Bond of Stillwater, one daughter, Joye Hanegan and husband, Ron of Broomfield, CO., one brother, Earl Bond of Stroud, one sister, Julia Ford of Midwest City, OK., four grandchildren Solomon of Norman, Miranda of Dallas, Michael of New York City, Jonathan of Buenos Aires, Argentina, two great grandchildren, Samuel and Noah, others relatives and many friends. Memorial will be held at the Church of Christ at 9th and Bryant, Edmond, Oklahoma on Saturday, December 30. 2017 at 10:00 A.M. with Michael Hanegan officiating. Service are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
