Vinette "Granny" Alexander

Vinetta 'Granny' Alexander was born in Paxton, IL on April 2, 1925 and departed this life in Stroud, OK on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the age of 90 years. Vinetta was the daughter of John Mack and Mary Grace (Farmer) Lewis. She was a resident of Stroud since 1995, moving from Maysville, OK. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stroud and worked for the State Schools in Pauls Valley for 21 years as a Nurses Aide. She married Delbert Earl Alexander in Mattoon, IL on May 16, 1953. He preceded her in death in August 25,1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brothers and one sister. Survivors include, two sons, James Lewis Alexander and wife Theresa of Seminole, John Alexander and wife Jackie of Stroud, two daughters, Barbara Goodman and Friend Gene Dasher of Stroud, and Debbie Jo Garrett of Stroud, seven grandchildren, Vicki Keim, Jason Keim & wife Eslie, Debbie Jo Alexander, Dusty Alexander & wife Jenna, Melisa Bateman & husband Kevin, Chris Shields & wife Stacey, Amber Miller & husband Lucky, sixteen great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Stroud at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, May 18, 2015 with Rev. James Bond officiating. Burial will follow at the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
