Vincent Lee Coffey of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away in Oklahoma City on July 21, 2011, at the age of 89. He was born on June 13, 1922 to Harry H. and Minnie (Thomason) Coffey west of Hinton, Oklahoma. He grew up and farmed in the Bethel Community. Vincent was a graduate of Hinton High School. On July 17, 1969, he married Juanita Thompson of Prague. They shared 42 years of marriage and raising their families. Vincent was baptized at an early age at Bethel Methodist Church, west of Hinton. Later, he was a very active member in both the Hinton and Prague Methodist Churches. He was one of the first Lay Leaders for the Emmaus Walk in Oklahoma. Vincent also taught Sunday School and served on many boards and committees within the church. He loved to work. Vincent farmed peanuts, wheat, and hay and was a cattle rancher. He and his wife, Juanita, owned and operated Coffey Insurance Agency in Prague until their retirement. He was vice-president and board member of Oklahoma Farmers Union; vice-president and board member of Oklahoma Peanut Growers Association, president and board member of Kiwanis Club in both Hinton and Prague. Vincent was a board member of the First National Bank in Prague (now BancFirst). In 2006, Vincent received the Citizen of the Year Award from the Prague Chamber of Commerce. Vincent and Juanita attended OU games and were avid fans. He loved to be with his family and was a loving husband, and devoted father and grandfather. He was well respected by his friends and his family. Vincent will be dearly missed by all. His parents; brothers, Harvey and Melvin Coffey; and his great-grandson, Hunter Anderson, preceded Vincent in death. Survivors include his wife, Juanita of the home in Prague; son and daughter-in-law, Terrell and Carol Jean Coffey of Hinton; daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Robert Moore of Edmond, Cheryl and Eldon Johnson of Midwest City, Cathy and Tom Hall of Brownwood, Texas, Debra and Gary Kinslow of Prague; sister-in-law, Donna Dawkins and her husband Gerald of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Chris and Lisa Coffey, Lance and Carrie Coffey, Jami and Tom Majors, Staci and Zach Borynack, Ashli and Chris Anderson, Jami and James Mitchell, Marci and Mike Colvin, Lori and Matt Simmons, Chad Johnson, Keely Hall, Matt and Kim Kinslow, Brooke and Brett Case; and 21 great-grandchildren. The Coffey family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, July 24, 2010, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Memorials may be made in Vincent's memory to the Prague United Methodist Church, 7901 NBU, Prague, OK 74864. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 10:00 AM, at the Prague United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Keneda, Rev. Larry Jacobson, and Rev. Kyle Keiner officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 PM at the Hinton Cemetery.
