Victor Leon Blackwell of Shawnee passed away on March 17, 2020 at the age of 73. He was born on August 31, 1946 in Shawnee and was the son of Maurice Dean and Pauline Janet (Long) Blackwell. Victor was born and raised in Shawnee and was a 1964 graduate of Shawnee High School. Victor proudly served his country with the United States Army. While in the Army, he was stationed in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Victor was known as a kind and even-tempered man. He was very caring and loved to take care of and to cater to his wife, Donna. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved his cats, his Braum’s ice cream sandwiches and playing on the computer. He was skilled at both carpentry and winning stuffed animals from the arcade crane game. Victor was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and uncles and aunts. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Donna V. (Ward) Blackwell; one daughter, Lisa Carter and her husband Bobby; one son, Luke Blackwell; three grandchildren, Megan Carter and her fiancé, Caleb Lanier, Marcus Hoover and his wife Kristen and Jordan Carter; six great grandchildren; and one brother, Phillip W. Blackwell and his wife Lucille and their three children.
