Veronica "Vernie" Mary Visnieski

Veronica Mary 'Vernie' Visnieski, age 83, of Abilene, KS, formerly of Harrah, was born January 12, 1931, in Harrah, OK. She was the daughter of John K. & Frances K. Rychlec. She left this life on Sunday, January 19, 2014, in Abilene, KS. Vernie graduated from Harrah High School and then married Martin S. Visnieski, on October 4, 1952. She was a member of the St. Teresa Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. Attending church and sporting events were a big part of her life. Her hobbies were taking care of the lawn & garden and she enjoyed cooking for her family and having her kids and grandkids around her. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, Bart Rychlec, Bennie Rychlec, Teresa Klopack, Estelle Kiermeier, Stanley Rychlec, Casey Rychlec, Ronnie Thompson, twins, Ramon & Peter Rychlec and granddaughter, Katrina Nicole Visnieski. She is survived by her children, George & Suzanne Visnieski, Harrah, OK, Terrance & Gayla Visnieski, Harrah, OK, Tim & Marianne Visnieski, Prague, OK, Gerald & Kathy Visnieski, Harrah, OK, Connie & Mike Backhus, Junction City, KS, Marvin & Joyce Visnieski, Harrah, OK, Samuel Visnieski, Harrah, OK; siblings, Christine Schwetz, Chicago, IL, and Barbara Brimm, Harrah, OK; 16 grandchildren, Michael Visnieski, Thomas Visnieski, Michelle Hirdman, Samantha Young, Cort Visnieski, Jake Visnieski, Larry Visnieski, Alex Simpson, Martin Visnieski, Adam Visnieski, Mandi Coon, Travis Backhus, Ashley Cole, Shanna Visnieski, Zane Visnieski, Zach Visnieski; 13 great-grandchildren, Nathan Glidewell, Devin Hirdman, Ashlyn Nicole Hirdman, Kale Visnieski, Jade Visnieski, Benjamin Visnieski, Max Visnieski, Braden Visnieski, Colby Visnieski, Paisley Visnieski, Trapper Visnieski, Aubrey Visnieski, Hope Cole and many other relatives and friends. Rosary & Wake will be 7:15 P.M., Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Harrah, OK. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Harrah, OK, with Father Prakash Madineni officiating. Interment will follow at St. Teresa Catholic Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
