Vernon Frank Holasek

Vernon Frank Holasek was born on May 11, 1920, in Megargel, Texas, and departed this life on Saturday, November 8, 2008, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 88. Vernon, the son of Rudolph Raymond and Frances Mary Dvoracek Holasek, was a resident of Oklahoma City. He married Elsie Louise Krajicek on April 9, 1948. Vernon retired from Tinker Air Force Base where he worked as an airplane mechanic. He was a member of the Catholic Church. His parents, five brothers, and one sister preceded Vernon in death. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Elsie Holasek of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Mona Holasek of Mustang, James and Lana Holasek of Moore; daughter and son-in-law, Doris and John Griggs of Oklahoma City;brothers, Ernest Holasek of Midwest City, Edward Holasek of Mustang;8 grandchildren;4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 10:00 AM, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Prague with Rev. Fr. Shane Tharp officiating. Interment will follow at the Czech National Cemetery in Prague. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
