Vernie Melvin Jordan

Vernie Melvin Jordan, was born on September 20, 1933, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Friday, July 25, 2014, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 80. Vernie, the son of Albert and Mary Ellen (Ridinger) Jordan, was a life-long resident of Prague. He married Aileen Pratka on October 26, 1957. He proudly served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Vernie worked as a mechanic. His parents, seven brothers, one sister, and daughter, Verna Jean Friend, preceded Vernie in death. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Aileen Jordan of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and June Jordan of Choctaw and Mark and Dana Jordan of Prague; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Charles Gerlich of Prague; sister, Ava King of Chickasha; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; other family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Rev. Randall Miller officiating. Interment will follow at the Catholic Cemetery in Prague.
