Bonnie Cornett was born in Teague, Texas on July 30, 1935 and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the age of 76 years. Bonnie was the daughter of Gilbert Ivis and Ruby Kate (Moree) Christian. She was a resident of Stroud, Oklahoma since 1973. She was affiliated with Deer Creek Baptist Church, but recently started attending the First Baptist Church, Stroud Oklahoma and worked as a manager of Howard Johnson Restaurant in Stroud, Oklahoma until they closed and then she managed Jack Griffith Convenience Store in Stroud until she retired. Bonnie married Henry C. Cornett in Arlington, Texas on November 14, 1960 and he preceded her in death April 13, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and step-father. Bonnie and her little white Pomeranian, 'Cotton' was always together. Survivors include, Two Sons, David Cornett of Stroud, OK, Joseph Cornett of Tulsa, OK, One Brother & Sister in Law, Wayne & Pat Christian of Rice, TX, Three Sister, Neva Felz of Mexia, TX, Pat King & husband Bill of Arlington, TX, Jo Griffin of Mexia, Tx, Five Grandchildren, Keisha, Ashley, Hope, Chase, & Gage, Five Great Grandchildren, Other relatives and friends. Memorial service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Stroud, Oklahoma with Rev. Burl Mackey and Manuel Rivas officiating.
