Verna Lorine Chaffin

Verna Lorine Chaffin, a Prague resident, was born on October 11, 1923, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Saturday, November 22, 2003 in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 80. Verna, the daughter of John and Lillie Bell Shires Bohannon, married Melvin L. Chaffin on April 12, 1944, in Henryetta, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Prague. Her parents, her husband, 2 sisters, and 2 brothers preceded Verna in death. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Melvin R. & Kathy Chaffin of Choctaw, OK; daughters & sons-in-law, Mary & Myron Castleberry of Edmond, OK, Linda and David Sherrill of Oklahoma City, OK; 6 grandchildren, Jerry Bryant, Cody Bryant, Michael Chaffin, Shelly Ray, Michelle Chaffin, and Justin Castleberry. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2003, at 2:00 P.M., at the First Baptist Church in Prague, Oklahoma, with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Okemah, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
