Verna Dawkins

Verna Dawkins was born on September 7, 1918, in Prague, OK, and departed this life on Saturday, January 7, 2006, in Midwest City, OK, at the age of 87. Verna, the daughter of William George and Arvie May Hobbs Thompson, was a long-time Prague-area resident. She graduated from Prague High School with the class of 1937. She married Edgar Earl Dawkins on February 10, 1948 in Gainesville, TX. He preceded Verna in death on October 17, 1999. Verna was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church. Her parents also preceded Verna in death. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Robert Allen and Teresa Dawkins of Coweta, OK; daughters and sons-in-law, Regina and Johnny Tucker of Oklahoma City, Kay and Bill Hickman of Edmond, Brenda and Chuck Staubus of Oklahoma City, Rhonda and John Farris of Meadville, MS; sisters and brothers-in-law, Azelee Schima of Prague, Geneva McCoy of Shawnee, Wilma Eitel of Oklahoma City; brothers-in-law and their wives, Howard and Betty Dawkins of Prague, Gerald and Donna Dawkins of Midwest City; sister-in-law and her husband:Norma and Milo Foreman of Prague; 10 grandchildren; and 6 Great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
