Vera Delores Hooker

Delores Hooker was born on April 4, 1929, in Henrietta, Texas, and departed this life on Thursday, August 18, 2011, in Stroud, Oklahoma, at the age of 82. Delores, the daughter of E.A. and Pearl (Tutum) Taylor, was a resident of Stroud. She married William Ray Hooker on August 26, 1949 in Witchita Falls, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1998. Delores was a Secretary for the First Baptist Church in Stroud. She was also an active member of the First Baptist Church and the American Legion. Delores was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters. Survivors include, son, Danny Brewer of Stroud, daughter, Sharon Lumm of the home, step-son, A.C. Hooker of Ardmore, 9 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 22, 2011 at 10:00 AM, at the First Baptist Church in Stroud with Dr. Burl Mackey officiating. Interment will follow at Stroud Cemetery in Stroud. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
