Velma Lucille Harris

Velma Lucille Harris, age 92 of Prague, left this life on May 17, 2018 in Prague, OK. She was born March 6, 1926 in Prague to Henry Clay and Grace Mabel (Guffey) States. Velma married Orvil Arthur Gilbert Harris on March 8, 1944. She was a homemaker, housewife and mother. Velma was a fantastic cook, always taking care of the meal for the holidays. Velma loved to garden and she would use about anything to plant her flowers in, and was known to stop along the side of the road to pick wild flowers to plant in her flower garden. She also worked in her vegetable garden. Velma always gave to her family. Velma was a member of the Shawnee Seventh Day-Adventist. Velma is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gilbert and Mary Harris of Prague; two daughters and sons-in-law Rosemary and husband, Roland Sutterfield of Prague and Judy and husband, John Click of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren, Angie Martin Harris of Prague, Jacob Click of Houston, Jennifer Cole of Oklahoma City, Cindy West of Prague and Jeff Sutterfield of Tulsa; eleven great grandchildren, Shelby Martin, Josh Martin, Kaeley Wise, Aaron Wilson, Austin Wilson, Hayden Crandall, Benjamin Cole, Franny Cole, Maddux Click, Cota Click and Emmalee Sutterfield; four great-great-grandchildren Payten Oleson, Gracie Oleson,Tripp Wilson and Ryker Wise, and numerous nieces and nephews. Velma is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orvil Arthur Gilbert Harris, who left this life on January 22, 2006; daughter, Bonnie Harris; one sister; two brothers; one granddaughter; one niece and one grand niece. The family would like to extend a special thank you to their mother's caregivers, Angie Martin and Aspire Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague. Interment will follow at Garden Grove Cemetery, with Pastor Jerry Don Slates Officiating.
