Velma Elizabeth Eckert, age 97, of Harrah, OK, was born March 9, 1919, in Harrah, OK. She was the daughter of John M. & Lessie Pearl (Nelson) Miller. She left this life on Saturday, March 26, 2016, in Midwest City, OK. Velma was a member of the Harrah Church of Christ. She enjoyed canning, quilting, singing and playing music. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charley R. Eckert, daughter, Delores Smith of Memphis, TN, 3 brothers and 6 sisters. Survivors include 2 sons & daughters-in-law, Charles & Laura Eckert, Choctaw, OK, John & Tracy Eckert, Garland, TX; 3 daughters & sons-in-law, Joan & Russell Glouse, Choctaw, OK, Shirley & Joe Ecker, Harrah, OK, Delinda & Ken Sturges, Oklahoma City, OK; sister, Bernice Farmer, Choctaw, OK; 15 grandchildren;17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK. Interment will follow at Jamison Cemetery, McLoud, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
