Velda Pauline Brown

Velda Pauline Brown, long-time Chandler, OK, resident was born on March 1, 1914, in Wellston, OK, and departed this life on Saturday, October 22, 2011, in Chandler, at the age of 97 years. Velda was the daughter of Marvin and Effie Jo (Lloyd) Roberts. She graduated from Wellston High School in 1933. Velda married T.J. Brown on May 18, 1935, in Wellston. They were married for over 40 years at the time of his death in 1975. Velda was a homemaker and member of the First Assembly of God Church in Chandler. Her parents, husband, and one brother preceded Velda in death, Survivors include, one daughter, Peggy Sue Eckert of Drumright, OK, one grandchild and spouse, Tammy and Jack Gritts of Hulbert, OK, two great-grandchildren and spouses, Jesse and Carla Gritts, Brandi and Christion Glendening, four great-great-grandchildren, Jarrett Meredith, Caden Glendening, Chanley Glendening, and Christion Glendening Jr., extended family, Wanda Selcer, Sheila and Greg Greenfield, Amanda and Curtis Palmer, K.C. and Billy Wilson, Ben Greenfield, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Chandler, with Rev. Doyle Seeley officiating. Burial will follow at Wellston Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, OK.
