Velbert C. Foshee, age 72 of Newalla, OK, was born on September 15, 1934 in Paris, AR. He was the son of Martin & Flora Bullock Foshee. He left this life on January 3, 2007 in Newalla, OK. Velbert served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Shirley Roadlander on October 9, 1971 in Fairview, Missouri. He retired from Tinker AFB after 20 years where he worked as an aircraft mechanic. Velbert was raised and baptized Pentecostal. Velbert was a member of the V.F.W. and he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, playing the guitar and woodworking which included making children?s toys. Velbert was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lorretta Joyce; 2 brothers, Jeff & Robert and 1 sister, Etna. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Foshee, Newalla, OK; daughter & son-in-law, Elizabeth & Bryan Claunch, Tulsa, OK; 5 step-children, Frank Warford, Riverdale, GA, Gary Warford, Newalla, OK, Maria Harmon, Tulsa, OK, William West, McLoud, OK, Myra Scott, McLoud, OK; 2 brothers, J.W. Foshee, Idabel, OK, Neil Foshee, Paris, AR, 3 sisters, Yuvonne Mcquire, Rochester, NY, Janette McMurtey, Paris, AR, Judy Foshee, Paris, AR, 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 8, 2007 at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK, with Rev. Bill Derrick officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
