Valeria Iona Gaines

Valeria Iona Gaines, a Stroud resident, was born on August 15, 1914 in Keywest, Oklahoma and departed this life in Dallas, TX on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at the age of 92 years. Valeria was the daughter of W.R. and Alice Brooks Yeldell. Valeria was a resident of Stroud all of her life; a member of the Glorious Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Stroud, Oklahoma; she worked as Teacher Aide for Stroud Elementary School. She married Willie C. Gaines in Stroud, Oklahoma in 1939. He preceded her in death in 1979. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, 1 brother, 5 sisters, and 2 Grandchildren. Survivors include, One Son, Mickey Gaines of Stroud, OK, Four Daughters, Vella Peters of Dallas, TX, Lorretta Moore of Dallas, TX, Alice White of Dallas, TX, Willie C. Gaines of Dallas, TX, One Sister,Elisabeth Strong of Las Angeles, CA, Twenty Seven Grandchildren, Forty Three Great Grandchildren, One Great Great Grandchild, Other relatives and friends.
