Tommy Ray Smith was born in Stroud, Oklahoma on May 28, 1944 and departed this life in Oklahoma City on March 1, 2018 at the age of 73 years. Tommy was the son of Lester and Ada Lois (Childress) Smith. He was a resident of Stroud most of his life. He was in the United States Air Force where he served in the Vietnam War. Tommy loved the outdoors where he tinkered with about anything. He liked to do woodwork and welding. He was a member of the Deer Creek Baptist Church in Stroud and worked as a Nuclear Engineer Tech. He married Evelyn Johnson in Prague on August 6, 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Survivors include wife Evelyn of the home, three sons, Dusty Smith of Inola, Glenn and Stephanie Johnson of Cushing, Leo Neuman of Stroud, two daughters, Shawn Smith-Deturk and husband Brad of Okmulgee, Tylene Nolan of Chandler, two brothers, Jimmy and Sandra Smith of Gotheswaite, TX. Billy Don Smith of Meeker, one sister, Linda Faye Wayland of Guthrie, several grandchildren, Colt and Bethany, Alana and Craig, Megan and Steven, Brett, Stella, Eliza, Bailey, Maclin, Tristen, Shane, Brendi and Tyler, Zach and Chelsea, Halee, Kylee, Chasen, Leo, Leeland, Logan, five great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Memorial service will be held at the Deer Creek Baptist Church in Stroud on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Mike Hynes officiating. Service under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
