Tommy Lee Barnett was born on December 19, 1948 in Norman, Oklahoma to Calvin and Lora (King) Barnett. He departed this life on Monday, July 13, 2020 in Sparks, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years. Tommy was a graduate of Choctaw High School where he played multiple sports and held records in track and field. Afterwards he served in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1974 as a firefighter. After the Air Force, Tommy started his family in Choctaw where he is known for his legendary hayrides and his dozer work. Later, he made a life in Sparks, Oklahoma where he could enjoy all the outdoor things that he loved including farming, raising cattle, horses, fishing, and hunting. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the Sparks Fire Department. Tommy was a living legend to his family and those he treated like family. He was greatly respected by all who knew him. He was gentle and patient but when Tommy spoke, you listened. Tommy lived his life at full speed. Tommy is preceded in death by his parents Calvin and Lora Barnett. Survivors include his one daughter Ashley Barnett of Edmond, Oklahoma; his one grandson Knox Garrison; two brothers, Larry Barnett and wife Alberta, David Barnett and significant other Sheryl Musick; two nieces, Tammy Barnett-Anderson and Jennifer Barnett; nephew Kyle Barnett; great nephew Brandon Barnett, along with numerous family and friends who will miss him dearly.
