Tommy Dewayne Phipps of Chandler, Oklahoma, passed away on August 29, 2020 at the age of 76. Tommy was born on October 1, 1943 in Petaluma, California and was the son of Curtis and Jeannine Phipps. At a young age, Tommy moved with his parents to Davenport, Oklahoma where he grew up. He also spent some time growing up in Oregon. Tommy married his loving wife, Beaulah (Stiner) Phipps in 1969 and the two have made their home in Chandler for the past 50 years. Tommy drove a cement truck for most of his life, logging many miles over the years. Tommy loved to be outdoors. He loved to fish and to go camping. He spent many hours in his garden, as well as raising chickens and pigs. Tommy was famous for his deer chili. He spent many hours cooking deer chili for his family and friends. He made it over his old wood stove in his shed. His shed was his home away from home, many stories and memories revolve around his old shed. Tommy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed many hours of playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed by many. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Johnny Douglas; two sisters; Elizabeth Childress and Vickie McKinzie; his stepson, Johnnie Jones and his grandmother, Elizabeth Bailey. He is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Beaulah Phipps; step-daughters, Ginger Rusch and her husband Rick; Sherry Carder and Jeanie Jones and her husband, Stephen Fuhrman; sisters, Rita Wade and her husband Jim, Sonja Ward and Judy Brown and her husband Ron; brother, Curtis Phipps and his wife Jonita; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Stroud Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Chandler.
