John Thomas “Tom” Evans Sr, of Tulsa, OK, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at his home. He had a strong belief and faith in Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior and now breaths freely in his presence. Tom was 84 years old.
Tom was born in Stroud, Oklahoma, on January 23, 1940 to John Stephenson and Lorene Kathryn (Mench) Evans. Tom grew up in Stroud and attended Stroud Public Schools. He was a 1958 graduate of Stroud High School and maintained a close relationship with his graduating classmates. Following high school, Tom attended Oklahoma State University. Tom also proudly served his country with the United States Army from 1960 to 1966, station mostly in Germany.
Following his service to his country, Tom began a long and successful career in real estate and finance. He worked for many years as an appraiser and even had his own appraisal business, owning and operating, Evans Appraisal Service. In his spare time, you would often find Tom at his favorite fishing spots or cheering on his beloved Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Tom was known for his big heart and generous spirit. He loved to make people happy. He had a sense of humor that could put a smile on anyone’s face. Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed by many.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Mary Evans.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, John Evans Jr and his wife, Lisa, of Columbia, Alabama; his daughters, Lori Raney and her husband, Tom, of Cottonwood, Alabama and Tonya Davis and her husband, Nate, of Basehor, Kansas; grandchildren, Jennifer Evans; Samantha Evans, Evan Roney, Lindsay Munoz and her husband, Adam, Kathyryn Roney and Brandon Davis; great-grandchildren, Malachi Ray Emerson Attaway, Daniel Munoz and Maddox Flowers; two sisters, Billie Joe Wilson and Janet Baker; two brothers, Steve Evans and his wife, Jan and Richard Evans and his wife, Debbie and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family would like to extend an appreciation to the Live Well Hospice and Parke Assisted Living for the care, love and support of their father and family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Tom’s honor to Live Well Hospice and Parke Assisted Living.
