Thomas William Stoker, Carney, Oklahoma, resident was born on November 15, 1919, in El Dorado, Kansas, and departed this life on October 10, 2004, at his home in Ripley, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years. Thomas was the son of Daniel Thomas and Pearl MargaretBest Stoker. He graduated from Foster High School in Oklahoma City with the class of 1940 where he was president of his class and captain of the football team. Tom attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee on a football scholarship. The football program at OBU was disbanded due to World War II. Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during which time he was stationed in England with the 84th Fighter Squadron. A photograph of his crew is displayed in the Omniplex Museum in Oklahoma City. He left active duty in 1952 and began a 20-year career with Tinker AFB. He and his family moved to their Carney farm in 1963 where Tom loved the country life. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Carney, served on the school board, and supported many civic activities. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Scottish York Rite, Master Mason, 32nd degree Mason, and a member of the Stillwater Blue Lodge and the Stillwater Mineral and Gem Society. Tom?s parents, wife ? Florence, one brother, one sister preceded him in death.Survivors include:One son:Herman Lee Price of Newalla, Ok.Two daughters:Pat Howell Collins of Ripley, Ok. Barbara Beaty- Johnson of Moore, Ok.Two sisters:Velma Hightower of Okla. City, Ok. Elnora Stilwell of Okla. City, Ok.Six Grandchildren.Two Great Grandchildren.
