Thomas E. Tisdale, age 88, of Choctaw, OK, was born on January 11, 1919 in Newton County, Mississippi. He was the son of James P. & Mary E. McGrew Tisdale. He left this life on January 18, 2007 in Midwest City, OK. Thomas was married for 62 years to Sallie R. Chaney; they were married on April 15, 1939, in Little Rock, MS. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Thomas worked for Allied Chemical where he was a skilled tradesman in building maintenance. He was a member of the Choctaw Road Baptist Church where he enjoyed working with the children?s groups. Thomas was a troop leader for the Boy Scouts of America and a member of the UAW and the NRA. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; infant daughter, Barbara Marie; 3 brothers, Clarence Tisdale, W. H. Tisdale and Eugene Tisdale and 1 sister, Elizabeth Swanner. Survivors include his son, Sam D. Tisdale, Choctaw, OK; 2 brothers & sisters-in-law, Raymond Tisdale & wife, Oklahoma City, OK, Billy Joe Tisdale & wife, Meridian, MS; 2 sisters-in-law, Ann R. Shannon, Choctaw, OK, Doris Tisdale, MS; brother-in-law:Monroe Swanner, Little Rock, MS; 2 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at the Choctaw Road Baptist Church, Choctaw, OK, with Rev. Rick Sowell officiating. Interment will be at Beulah Cemetery in Decatur, MS. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
