Theodore "Ted" William Smith

Theodore “Ted” William Smith was born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 28, 1949 and departed this life to be with Jesus in Stroud, Oklahoma on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at the age of 61 years. Ted was the son of Theodore R. and Margaret (Winklmann) Smith. Ted was a resident of Stroud since 1988, moving here from Edmond, Oklahoma. Ted attended Central State University in Edmond (now the University of Central Oklahoma), where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in management and a master’s degree in education. After graduation, he began working as a manager in the insurance business and later went on to own an insurance agency. Ted greatly enjoyed driving, owning, and working on classic cars and trucks. He also enjoyed scuba diving and sport fishing and devoted a large part of his time to teaching others to scuba dive. Ted was a member of the Masons. He was also active in the Boy Scouts, Rotary Club, Lions Club, and as a volunteer 4-H leader. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Thomas A. Smith. Survivors include, Wife, Linda of the home, One Son & Daughter in Law, Todd and Jeanna Smith of Weatherford, OK Special Mother, Jeri Hubbard Smith of Oklahoma City, OK, Two Brothers, Gary Smith of Oklahoma City, OK, David Smith of Piedmont, OK, Sister in Law, Sue Smith of Oklahoma City, OK, One Grandson, Cade Michael Smith of Weatherford, OK, One Nephew, Brian Smith & wife Naomi of Oklahoma City, OK, Two Nieces, Lindsey ith of Oklahoma City, OK, Anna Smith of Edmond, OK, Other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Stroud, OK on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. with Rev Burl Mackey officiating. Service are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, OK.
