Teresa Elizabeth (Higdon) Anderson was born on November 23, 1937, in Choctaw, OK and she departed this life on July 17, 2017, in Prague, OK at the age of 79 years old. Teresa graduated from St. Benedict, in Shawnee, in 1955. After High School, she attended Oklahoma A&M, which became OSU a year later. Teresa married Pat Anderson on August 24, 1968, in Shawnee, OK. Together they had 4 children and built a home in Prague. Teresa worked for Brooks Construction Company for over 25 years. In the middle of her years at Brooks, she took off and stayed home to be with the children that were her pride and joy. Teresa also worked for the Prague School for 10 years before she returned to work for Brooks Construction Company. Teresa was very active in the lives of her children. She loved getting to go and do things with them. She attended every ballgame and event that they were involved in. She was a den leader for the Cub Scouts for years and an assistant Girl Scout leader as well. Teresa was an active member in the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and the Red Hat Divas. Teresa had 12 grandkids, which she loved getting to go see and spend time with. She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a loving mother, an aunt, and a proud grandma and a friend. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her well. Teresa’s parents, Albert and Beulah Higdon; one sister, Lottie Scripsick; three brother-in-laws and four nephews preceded her in death. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Pat Anderson , of Prague, Jack and Michelle Anderson, of Little Rock, AR, Rockie and Burnedette Anderson, of Tulsa, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Ray and Teresa Cooper, of Prague; grandchildren, Shelby Anderson, Teresa Cooper, Larry Cooper, Tricia Cooper, Ashley Anderson, Grace Anderson, Justin Anderson, Henry Anderson, Owen Anderson, Mackenzie Anderson, Bud Cooper and Claire Anderson; Sisters, Patsy Binder, of Kansas City, MO and Grace Kirby, of Shawnee, OK; brother-in-law, John Scripsick, of Maze, KS; many nieces and nephews and numerous other family and friends. The Anderson family will receive friends on Friday, July 21, 2017 from 5:00 PM – 6:45 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague. A wake service will follow at 6:45 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 9:00 AM, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Prague, with Father Long Phan officiating. Interment will follow at Prague Catholic Cemetery.
