Dr. Teodoro A. “T.A.” Darvin, M.D., 77, returned to his heavenly home on January 9, 2018 after a valiant battle with a long illness. Dr. Darvin died in his home, surrounded by his family. Dr. Darvin was born to the late Teodolo & Liwanag A. Darvin, in Imus, Cavite, the Philippines on July 11, 1940. Dr. Darvin graduated from Far Eastern University Medical School in 1965 and was a family physician and general surgeon, serving the community of Stroud for over 32 years. Dr. Darvin is survived by his loving wife Paula of 37 years; daughter, P.J. Brun, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, son, Dr. Ken (Lisa) Darvin of Stroud, Oklahoma, son Matthew Darvin of Singapore, son, Michael (Mitsuko) VanDerPool of Corona, California, and daughter, Nancy (Todd) VanDerPool-Peyton of Pewaukee, Wisconsin. He is also survived by his sisters Annie and Thelma and brothers, Terry and Mon, all of the Philippines. Dr. Darvin is also fondly remembered by his 21 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Franz VanDerPool and daughter, Maureen Young. Dr. Darvin touched many lives ministering to others through medical missions in the Philippines, Swaziland, overseas and at home in the U.S. Dr. Darvin was also as a Bible teacher, an avid golfer and played basketball and tennis in his younger years. A memorial service honoring his life will be held at Maranatha Christian Center, 600 Tanger Dr, Stroud, Oklahoma, on Friday, January 12 at 10:00am. Service are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service.
