Sverre Odin Straatveit

Sverre Odin Straatveit was born on July 27, 1950 in Norwich, CT and departed this life on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at the age of 69. Odin was born to father Sverre Nils Straatveit and mother Tyyne Porthan. In 1968 he graduated from Cherico High School in Westerly, RI. He was very active on the soccer team. He served in the United States Navy from 1968-1973 as an electrician 3E. He served on the USS Forrestal Aircraft Carrier in the Mediterranean. He moved to Dallas, TX in 1973 and became a Union Electrician. Odin is survived by his wife Elizabeth Guest of the home, daughter Keri Ann Straatveit of Houston, TX; son Karl Straatveit and wife Clare of Lantana, TX; grandchildren Brandon, Colton, Shamus, Isobel and Hannah; two sisters, Sigrid Straatveit, Skjaldvor Guo of WA, two brothers, Erik Straatveit of Denton, TX, and Nils Straatveit of VA.
