Stanley Joe Mayer, Sr.

Stanley Joe Mayer, Sr. age 90, of Harrah, OK, was born on August 19, 1918, in Harrah, Oklahoma. He was the son of Felix & Pauline Faburska Mayer. He departed this life on Sunday, February 1, 2009, in Harrah, OK. Stanley lived in the Harrah area his entire life. He married Helen J. Strozyk on February 6, 1940, in Harrah, OK. Stanley proudly served in the U.S. Army during WW II, where he received the European Theater Ribbon, three Bronze Service Stars and the Purple Heart. He retired from Tinker AFB where he worked as an electronics technician. Stanley was a member of the D.A.V. He enjoyed dancing, watching wrestling and western movies and going to the casinos. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include his wife, Helen J. Mayer, Harrah, OK; son & daughter-in-law, Stanley, Jr. & Diana Mayer, Newalla, OK; 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Geneva & Doyle Sitton, Okla. City, OK, Angeline & James Breske, Harrah, OK; sister, Katie Magott, Harrah, OK; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and many other relatives and friends. Rosary & Wake Service will be held 6:40 P.M. Thursday, February 5, 2009, at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Harrah, OK. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Friday, February 6, 2009, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Harrah, OK, with Father Charles Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at St. Teresa Catholic Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
