Shirley Josephine Jones

Shirley J. (Sanders) Jones, 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Fountain View Manor nursing facility in Henryetta, OK. She was born September 16, 1941, in Cordell, OK to L. C. Sanders and Vera (McCarley) Sanders. Shirley was a 1959 graduate of Mountain View High School. She married Allan J. Jones on October 24, 1964 and gave birth to their only child, Allana, in 1968. Shirley was a homemaker and very supportive mother, never missing a band concert. She loved spending time outdoors working in the yard and her flower garden. But more than gardening, Shirley loved children. Shirley’s eyes would light up every time she saw a baby or a small child. She would talk to them and love on them, letting the children know how beautiful and precious they were. Shirley is survived by her husband, Allan of Prague; her daughter, Allana Stephens and husband Paul of Prague; three sisters, Janelle Miller, Geraldine Nation, and Kay Pivrnec, all of Oklahoma City; one brother, Bud Sanders of Hobart; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister, Nelda Lewis, and brother, Don Sanders.
