Sharon Wilma Edmonson

Sharon Wilma Edmonson was born on April 26, 1947, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Thursday, December 8, 2011, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 64. Wilma, the daughter of Clifford Paul 'Hap' and Emma Mae (Curtis) Guinn, was a life-long resident of Shawnee. She married Freddie Edmonson on June 25, 1965 in Shawnee. Wilma graduated from Shawnee High School, worked as a secretary at North Rock Creek Schools for 23 years, and was a member of Aydelotte Baptist Church. Wilma was a loving grandmother who devoted all of her time to her grandchildren. It gave her great joy to attend their programs, award ceremonies, and ballgames. Her mother; step-mother, Willa Jones Guinn; one grandchild preceded Wilma in death. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Freddie Edmonson of the home; her father, Hap Guinn of Shawnee; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Jody Edmonson of Shawnee, Jeff and Michelle Edmonson of Shawnee; daughters and sons-in-law, Shari and Wayne Sligar of Shawnee, Wendi and Jason Campbell of Meeker; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carma and Don Morris of Shawnee, Kathy and Harlynn Fletcher of Meeker; grandchildren, Amber and Emberly Edmonson, Alisha and Kylee Akehurst, Michael Warren, Emma and Easton Edmonson, Zachary, Devin, and Grace Sligar, Jordan, Jacob, and Jaylee Campbell; and step-brother, Benny Jones and his wife Christy of Prague. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM, at Aydelotte Baptist Church in Shawnee with Rev. Paul Gore officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker.
