Sharon 'Sherry' Ann Bennett was born on November 24, 1945, in Little Rock, Arkansas, and departed this life on June 23, 2015, in College Station, Texas with family, at the age of 69. She was the second of five children, the daughter of James Benton and Rosie Lee (Choate) Eads. Sherry graduated from Putnam City High School with the class of 1963. She then attended a business college where she received secretarial training. Determined to walk her own path through life, Sherry went from secretary, to working for a time, as a welder. She also owned and operated Anna Marie's Figure Salon on Peoria Street in Tulsa, OK. For many years she worked as a floral designer for Penny and Irene's Flower Shop in Midwest City. She developed many wonderful, lasting friendships while there. Her first marriage was to Russell Wayne Long, June 9, 1964. She and Russell had one daughter, Summer Linn. Sherry and Russell divorced but remained close and dear friends. Sherry then married William 'Billy' Paul Bennett on January 3, 1981. Their LDS temple sealing ceremony took place in Salt Lake City, UT on July 3, 1987. They enjoyed 34 years together. Sherry genuinely loved being around others. She was fun, creative, vibrant, loving and energetic. When Summer was young, Sherry was known to occasionally phone in an excuse to the school Summer attended, so the two of them could spend a day together. One of her favorite pastimes was spending time with her grandchildren. She never ceased from playing, laughing, and teasing even into her most frail state. She was truly young at heart. She selflessly nursed many injured animals to health- dogs, cats, and birds to name a few - even young beavers on one occasion. Sherry gladly adopted any stray or abandoned critter into her menagerie treating each one as family. Without a doubt, they loved their new life on the farm. Other interests included tending to her beautiful, ever-expanding garden and serving in church. Sherry worked with the youth as well as the women of the church. Some of her fondest memories were serving alongside others and providing leadership for the youth. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her husband, William Bennett; daughter, Summer Radcliffe; step-sons, Eric and Gavin Bennett; grandchildren, Bailey, Emma, Teija and Avery Radcliffe; step-grandchildren, Jacob, Allanah and Jaiden Bennett; her siblings, Ronald James Eads, Merry Alice Hull, Linda Kay Brown and Penny Gail Sekerak and many other relatives and friends. Services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, July 3, 2015, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Shawnee, OK. Interment will follow at Jamison Cemetery, McLoud, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
