Sean Ray Mckenzie

Sean Ray McKenzie, 47, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Sean was born on Tuesday, May 27, 1975 in Vallejo, California to David Ray and Connie Jean (Nance) McKenzie. He was a life-long resident of Chandler, Oklahoma, graduating from Chandler High School in 1993. After high school, Sean studied at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, and St. Gregory’s University in Shawnee, Oklahoma. After our nation was attacked on September 11, 2001, Sean joined the United States Army and where he served our country for 13 years, retiring in 2015.

Sean enjoyed playing golf and when he was young, he earned the achievement of “Eagle Scout” He was a member of the Chandler First United Methodist Church.

Sean was preceded in death by his father, David McKenzie; his grandparents, Hershal and Laura McKenzie and Leroy and Virginia Nance; aunt, Carole Martin; uncles, Terry Flowers, and Truman Nance; and a cousin, Truman Nance, Jr.

Sean is survived by his mother, Connie McKenzie of Shawnee, Ok; a daughter, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Jade McKenzie of Houston, Tx; his brother, Reed McKenzie and his wife Laura of Edmond, Ok; niece and nephew, Maecy Roby McKenzie and Dayton Kyle McKenzie of Edmond; aunt, Debra Flowers of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; uncle, David Nance of Charleston, South Carolina; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
